Galibier Alpine is a high fermentation blond beer, brewed mainly with barley malt. We use four different types of malts during its brewing. Alpine is a light and thirst-quenching beer. The aromatic hops that we use give it fruity, herbaceous aromas, underlined by citrus notes.

Slightly hazy pale golden colour, good frothy white head, good retention and lacing. Aroma pale malt, tangerine, mango, pine notes. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, grapefruit, lemon, star fruit. Bittersweet aftertaste, citrus pith, bit chalky, resin notes. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, very tasty and well-made APA, rather good.

330ml bottle from V&B Annecy. Pours a startlingly clear gold, small foamy white head. Fresh citrus, lime and floral meadow on the nose. Taste continues these elements well, nice gentle and smooth on the palate. Good bitterness. A little soapy. Very well-rounded and citrussy, great flavoursome sessionable French APA.

The APA in this surprisingly good series of French Alps craft beers, thanks to Marie for the bottle! Very thick and frothy, egg-white, regularly structured, dense, lacing head on top of a hazy peach blonde beer with warm egg yolk-like yellowish hue. Aroma of orange zest, lemon balm, lime juice, dough, oregano, white grape peel, soap, unripe green banana, star fruit, damp hay, light passion fruit touch. Clean fruity onset with hints of star fruit, green banana and guava with a very light sourish gooseberry accent, fizzy carbo, soft and soapy mouthfeel; cereally, rounded pale malt sweetness in the middle with a very light caramelly edge, chalky accent especially in the finish, which is otherwise ruled by a soft, mellow but expressive and very aromatic hoppiness, grapefruity and a bit kiwi-like with a faint piney note, applying gentle bitterness to an otherwise rounded, juicy malt ending. A tad ’lemony’ and chalky, could have been a bit maltier perhaps, but in any case technically very clean and to the point, elegant and way above average for a French ’artisanal’ beer if you ask me - like their other ones. Too bad I got to try only three of their beers, the next time one of my friends goes to this region for a winter holiday, I must not forget to ask them for a bottle of these guys’ imperial stout or imperial IPA...

15/IV/17 - 33cl bottle @ home - BB: XII/2017 (2017-599) Thanks to Alengrin for sharing the bottle!

Note: apparently I forgot to enter this rating. Weird. Thanks to Alengrin for bringing this to my attention! :p
Little hazy deep blond to orange beer, big huge dense off-white head, very stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: quite some troipcal fruits, citrus, grapefruit. MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: citrus, pretty bitter, hoppy, some grapefruit, some tropical fruits, little sweet, malty touch. Aftertaste: bitter hops, citrus, grapefruit, grassy, little metallic, somewhat sugary, alcohol touch. Judging by the previous ratings, I guess they've changed the recipe quite a bit over the years. ;-)

Bottled 330ml. -Golden coloured, medium sized white head, very mild flowery nose. Moderate sweet malty, slightly flowery and grainy taste with notes of honey. Bitterish sweet finish. Not bad for newely opened brewery.

It’s so damn brilliant that we got to try these so soon after they opened! Brought to ogivlado by some friends of his from France (thanks!) Poured a golden body with a thick small white head. Odd, kinda stale dusty "washed-out", maybe even a bit sweaty nose. Didn’t like it all that much. The taste is ok, light, sweetish seaweed (to try to put some marker on that odd aroma found in the nose). Some grain, a bit dusty. Really, well, unique and not all that bad, but I just don’t dif it all that much. Dunno.
