A helmet and headset can’t muffle the sound of your heart pounding in your chest. Your gloved-hands infuse themselves to the wheel and won’t let go until it’s over. Your co-driver makes one final adjustment to the course and looks at you with a grin and a thumbs-up. “We are good to go.” he says. Adrenaline floods every muscle but your foot remains steady on the accelerator. The engine is roaring but soon it will sound like a swarm of ten thousand bees.

Go! Go! Go! Every turn of the wheel and every shift of the gear in sync with the flurry of your co-driver’s instructions. Nothing but a blur of green on either side. You can feel loose asphalt under the tyres being strewn in every direction as they maneuver every corner with the screech of a ‘banshee’. Nothing but dust and white smoke behind you and a certainty of victory in front of you because yours is the best time for this and every stage. At the finish line, you step slowly out your car, helmet in hand, wanting a Stag to celebrate and to quiet your mind. It’s the only beverage for a man who is both a hero and a formidable racing adversary.

Stag is a European style lager with a distinct, robust flavour and a lingering but gentle aftertaste. Both its taste and its name are indicative of what true masculinity is – unforgettable strength and character. It appeals to the male consumer who embodies these characteristics and who appreciates a beer that reminds him and everyone around him of exactly who he is.

Bottle at home. Pours clear golden with a thin head that fades. Aroma is malts, grain, grass and paper. Tastes sweet with heavy malt and a little grass and bread. Another pale lager another country tick!

Bottle from Fresh Fields Croydon. It pours clear pale gold / yellow with a small white head. The simple grassy, pale grainy action, paper and white bread. The taste is crisp, light bitterness, clean, grassy, cracker, dull sweetness and cheap white bread with a dry finish. Light body and average. Aroma is not great, but it tastes clean and drinks easy. Could be worse.

Dec ’14. A 0.33 l can Marjan got me in Trinidad, thanks! Light golden colored lager, smaller head. Typical corn syrup aroma, as well as flavor, which walks between sweet and biting sour all the time. Dust is more prominent than in aroma. Light, thin body with still considerably long finish, where herbal component shows up besides the corn and bread. Could be worse, but what to expect anyway?

Canned 330ml. -Courtesy of Marko, shared with him and Jablanko. Clear yellow coloured, small to medium sized airy white head, corn in the nose. Corn and brewing cereals with short bitterish finish. Typical Carib lager.

Thanks Marjan (and heavy)! Shared with ogivlado and Jablanko. Poured a shiny yellow-golden body with a small head. Strange, not that pleasant aroma, corny feet really, dusty, eggy, meh. Corny, sweetish taste with a solid carbonation bite, bready, eggy again, but somehow harmless and drinkable, a crappy beer saved by the mouthfeel. And even though the adjuncts are dead obvious, it managed to be better than many beers that followed...

Helles goldgelbes Bier mit geringer weißer Schaumkrone. Geruch leicht malzig, getreidig, wässrig. So ist auch der Geschmack , wässrig, langweilig.

275ml bottle found in a caribbean shop at Shepheard’s Bush Market, London. Brewed and bottled at Grenada Breweries Ltd., St. George’s, Grenada. Grainy nose. The beer stars smooth and easy to drink. Typical international lager, but with a nice and full body. Grain, sweetness, but no water. The aftertaste is sweetish-grainy, fresh, only hints of bitterness. Full-bodied, fresh, thirst-quenching!

Bottle @ the 7th Shrewsbury Bottle Share, Aug 14, thanks to Blackhaddock. Pours clear amber with foamy thin head. Sweetcorn aroma. Moderately sweet lager taste, balanced and inoffensive. Actually surprised I didn’t mind this.
