Oct. ’14. A 0.33 l bottle of Amigos Zwickl, thanks to one of our guests in Vinisce who remembered my tasting hobby and brought the weirdest thing they could find back home. It poured hazy yellow body with medium sized head. Quite bad grainy aroma, also eggy malty, exactly my personal most hated combination. Unlike Marko, which actually liked its nose, I preferred the flavor. It was lightly sweet, grainy as well, but much less, especially in combination with some lemon and herbal hop notes. Yeast was felt too, as undisturbing chalk note. Thin in body though with easy, short finish. Quite a boring zwickl anyway.

Bottled 330ml. -as Amigos Zwickl. Courtesy of heavy, shared with him and Marko. Cloudy yellow coloured, small to medium sized creamy white head, dusty grainy nose. Crude grainy presence with notes of cereals and dusty bitter finish. Not my type.

As Amigos Zwickl, huge thanks to heavy for bringing this! That German schlager band that’s on the label is bizarrely unintentionally funny, check them out. Anyway, poured a misty yellow body with a small thick white head. Extremely grainy, but pleasant-müsli like aroma, with only light yeasty notes, and far far lighter beet notes - which is a plus. The taste, however, is disappointingly mild, just a touch grainy, dryish near the end, and then beet comes out... Eh. Ok, but not much more than that.

Bottle in Gabrovo, Bulgaria - purchased at Carrefour in Sofia. Pours perfectly clear gold, lightly effervescent, with a foamy white head. Pretty meh stuff. A bit of grainy malts, slight metallic zing, cereal, faint hay and ripening lemon. Light bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish with some metal bite, wet hay and further ripe lemon. So so.

Draught. Slightly cloudy golden colour. Small white head. OK fruity/malty flavour. High bitterness, slightly uncompromising.

Golden colour, hazy. Dry and rather malty with clean mouthfeel and grassy bitter finish.
