09/11 0.5 l fliptop bottle courtesy of ogivlado, thanks for sharing! It poured clear golden body with medium sized head. Sweetish floral malt aroma, touched with alcohol. Flavor was sweet as well, fruity malt palette like peaches, cooked apricots, quinces, butter, with some alcohol of course. Medium to full in body with fine sweet finish. Nothing special, but generally a pleasant winter warmer.

Crisp clear golden coloured body with a rich, three centimetre tall white head. Aroma of malt, rice, light hops, grain and some mild sugars. Light-bodied; Sharp metallic and pungent malt flavour with a lot of grain and alcohol present. Aftertaste shows a bit more rice and grain than usual with a good sweet finish, but a bit pungent. Overall, not a horrible beer, but not a good one and not one that can compete with the beers just a few hundred kilometres away. Interesting to see a German beer with Italian all over it, but understandable. I sampled this 50 cL swing-top bottle purchased from Billa in Milan, Italy [via Torino] on 15-February-2014 for €2,55 sampled in my apartment here in Milan on 16-February-2014.

Ogi’s, brought from Italy. Poured a slightly misty golden body with a small white head. Buttery sweet alcoholic aroma, malty. eh. Sweet, slightly too sweet malty taste, with light notes of alcohol, light peach, some tea, some plastic. Some note saves it, and it’s kinda harmless tasting for the strength, as in not rocket fuel, but hardly a great beer.

Bottled, 0.50l. Clear deep golden color with large frothy off-white head, no lacing and lively bubbles. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, herbal hops, vanilla, dark fruits and some alcohol. Taste starts with sweet and rich malt, followed fresh grainy with strong alcohol presence. Mouthfeel is spicy, while aftertaste is moderate hoppy with long duration. Medium body, thick texture and average carbonation in palate. Good, but too strong for hot summer day...

Purchased in Italy. In order to satisfy all markets, it bears on the label all the following descriptors: doppio malto chiara, strong lager, heller bock, doppel bock; they are quite confused.
It pours a light amber color, with big bubbles and almost no head. Light aroma, alcohol and fusels, plastic. Alcoholic and bitter brew, industrial, difficult to drink; pointless.

0.5L spring top bottle from Billa AG italy, 7°. Dark gold slightly amber, aroma is malt and alcohol. Taste is not exciting, there’s a feel of sweetness and a medium bitterness. Quite dense, thick, oily feel, a bit sticky, last part has butter aftertaste. You can get a good booze from this one, but the price is high and not so worth.
