This NW style sour ale is a strong blond ale aged in chardonnay barrels for up to 12 months, then aged with dried white figs and lemon peel or up to 12 more months. Aromas of sweet figs, golden raisins, and citrus zest are the first to be noticed. Hints of white wine grapes, lemon peel, and sweet figs roll across the palate, leading to a crisp lemon tartness in the finish that leaves a lingering sweetness on the tongue.

(2014 tap sample @ MBCC 2017 Red Session, Copenhagen) Clear dark gold pour with a white head. Notes of citrus zest, sweet grape, light fig, a little sweet malt, wood, lactic acidity, sour candy, light acetic edge, white wine-like oak, a bit of spicy yeast. Rather sour throughout, finishing tart and citrusy with just a little alcoholic drydown. Medium bodied, a little watery, softly carbonated. Pretty solid, less overtly fig-heavy than expected, no real hint of what a big beer it is ABV-wise.

From tap at På Kornet with OGJ and KH 29.12.17. Dark golden. Small white head. Acid aroma and taste of brett, malt, fruits and dry white wine. Very dry. Refreshing!

Tap (Pogromcy Meatów, Wrocław). Sour, delicate, nice, smooth but without barrel notes. Decent beer for me.

Unexpected to be describing a 10.7% beer as floral and light. Definitely sour but not at all overwhelmingly so. Interesting, very complex.

(Keg at Sori Taproom, 2015 vintage, 20171124) The beer poured deep amber and hazy. No head. Aroma had sourness, caramel and wood. Palate was medium bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were sourness, wood, caramel, toffee, tartness and bitterness. Aftertaste had toffee, tartness and bitterness. An interesting complex brew. Tartness and sweetness were blended surprisingly well.
