0.33 l bottle. Deep brown, almost black color, no head. Aroma: chocolate, cocoa and even some hops in aroma. Dry aftertaste. Could be a bit heavier in body, but otherwise it’s fine.

Super hazy and muddied brown coloured body with a nice, two centimetre tall tan head and a creamy glow on top. Aroma of toasted malt, caramel, earth, light fruits and a bit of steeped coffee with the malt by far the strongest. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong earthy malt flavours with some light toffee and oak noticeable showing a good deal of steeped coffee grounds and subdued honey flavours near the end, but without any other strong influences at all. Aftertaste is mellow with the malt and caramel the strongest, but also showing some of the coffee and the smallest hints of a chocolate sweetness from milk chocolate. Overall, a respectable brown with literally no off flavours or pungency, but not enough complexity (yes, even for this style) or depth that make it amazing. That said, a good beer for the style and one worth trying if you like this or find yourself in Hungary. This one however, is probably not worth lugging in your suitcase across the pond, like I did. I’m happy I did, but wish I saved the space for another Hungarian beer that might have had more complexities and unique qualities. I sampled this 330 mL longtop bottle purchased from Beer Odalom in Budapest, Hungary on 24-March-2016 for HUF790 sampled at home in Washington on 06-January-2017.

Thanks... Trolleo I reckon? From tap at Medulin. Don’t remember. Muddy brown body. Huge coffee aroma, some figs. Enormous sweet coffee taste, light dry fig, but this is coffee all over the place. If you don’t like it, you’re in a problem. For me, it was awesome.

Bottle at a tasting. Assertively chocolatey and coffeeish without being particularly roasted per se. Also nutty and brown sugar. Rather sweet. Interesting and good.
