A classic Pils, clear, fresh and aromatic, with a pleasant after-taste of hops. It uses 90% pils malt grown by the Villa Chazil farm and malted in Austria, at the Stamac malthouse. It is a very mild beer, so it has a very low sugar residue that makes it particularly drinkable and fairly dry. Three varieties of hops are used, all grown in Bavaria (Hallertau). Perle for its bitter quality, Saphir for Aroma and Polaris, which gives its name to the beer, for dry hopping. The last of the three is a variety of hops that is usually used for dry hopping, in view of the high concentration of alpha-acids, however it is dosed sparingly in this phase because of the richness of the essential oils that it contains, giving a characteristic aromatic touch with slightly piquant and balsamic notes. This beer is ideal for drinking alone as an aperitif or with hors d’oeuvres featuring cold cuts and fresh cheeses, or with entrées that are not strongly flavoured. The beer is neither filtered nor pasteurised.

Bottiglia.

Tap at Mastro Birraio, Trieste-Italy. Deep folder hazy pour, white foam. Nose: rich cara malt, crazy grass harvest. Different feel with malty going strong. Mouth: sweet malt a bit honey, extract like hoppy finish. Nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at MastroBirrario, Trieste. Nice fresh minty nose Green cloudy Golden , huge offwhite cream. Sparkly medium dry body Nice lime, mint hop on a light straw malt base. Fresh, delicate, nice. Later had it in bottle - much worse state: Some dead yeast, not much hoppiness left, blueberry notes dominant.

0.5 bottle from Hops beer shop, shared with Marko. Murky yellow, honey colored beer w/small off white head. Polaris, but not to aromatic. Bitter but also not to much, thin body. Medium carbonation. Light finish. Refreshing but nothing special.

Courtesy of and shared with Hrabren, thanks! Murky apricot body, medium sized white head, low retention. Nose... dry malt and light herbal, sweetish hoppiness, yeah, Polaris. Again, the dry graininess kicks in, with the sweetish, only vaguely minty hops lost in the background, only giving a solid bitterness. It’s a good beer, but doesn’t deliver on the hopiness it promises with the name and the dry hopping. The finish isn’t quite all there, but it lacks boldness. It’s a good, drinkable lager, but special? Not really.

50cl pour at Maestro in Triete. Pours a lightly hazy gold with some fluffy, white head. Nose has some nice lemon and straw, mild yeast, some light grist too. Flavor is quite true to style, light grain, cereal, some mild honey, yeast, lemon, grass, straw. Crisp finish. Easy drinker.
