This is the latest in this brewery’s popular range of single-hop beers, brewed using solely pale malt and the single variety of New Zealand hops, resulting in a pale beer with an intriguing floral and lime character, plus a notable bitterness in the flavour.

Cask at The Botanist brewpub on 7 September 2013. Poured a lightly hazy golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma of sharp lemon zest, floral hops and a hint of sulphur. Flavour is dry grains and a weird element of lemon & lime sweets. Palate is slightly astringent bitterness and stale malt.

Cask on stillage at the Stag and Hounds, Binfield. Straw coloured with a ring of white head; sharp fruity aroma; rather thin with a soft, floral, taste and a squeeze of lime; the finish is gently bitter and lacks definition.

Hamilton Hall Spoons. Almost clear gold beer with a small white head. Palate is smooth and dry with modest carbonation. Sweet dry malt to start. Quite cornflakes, in fact almost Frosties! Touch of honey. There is a brief moment of perfect balance in the mid and then it’s all about the citric lime hops with a touch of lemon. Finishes semi dry. Not bad but the malt is diverting attention from the hops which seems odd in a single hop showcase.
