Cask at the St. Albans Beer Festival 2013. Poured a very hazy amber colour with a thin scummy head. Aroma of caramel, dates and grassy hops. Pine hop flavour with brown sugar and some slightly stale malt. Ends with resin, bitter spruce and sweet toffee. Bit disappointing.

Cask at the Waggon and Horses, Halesowen. Pours dark orange with a medium head. Aroma is alcohol and sticky pine needles. Taste has alcohol and sticky hops to start. Alcohol and sticky hop oil to finish. Alcohol taste distracts a bit.

From the cellar at the Rake. The colour is cloudy amber with a foamy white head. The nose is pine, mango, pineapple and grapefruit. The taste is a citrus fruit explosion; tangy orange, mango, grapefruit and some sweet tangerine as well as some wood, spices and varnish. Finish is long and full of aggressive bitter hop action expected of any good IIPA. I was pretty impressed with this hoppy beast.

Cellar run at The Rake. Thanks to Richard and pop socks for this. Strong hoppy aroma and some toast. Juicy hop in the mouth. Rather decent. Very bitter on finish.

Cask, gravity at Merton Summer Beer and Cider Festival, 17-07-09 Pours light amber in colour, some haze. Nicely citric with crisp grapefruit encountered quite early. This has a furiously bitter bite but its tempered with good undercurrent of sweetness in fact the balance is quite excellent. Strength was apparent but never intrusive or to the detriment of this fine beer. Good spicy touches, fabulously bitter and sweet a great British interpretation of a DIPA. Lovely stuff.
