The warming, gentle, sensuous aroma of vanilla pod permeates through this beautifully balanced porter. Toasted malt balances out the subtle sweetness of the vanilla

Taste of roasted malts, some sweet dark malts, dark bitter chocolate, dab of dark fruits, touch of soft vanilla, getting some nice dark chocolate malts

Overall - Vanilla was too faint in this, but still a tasty porter

Bottle split at Nutty’s House, thanks to James, 04/10/14. Black with a decent tan swirl atop the glass. Nose carries roasted tones, lactic tang, cocoa nibs, trace of vanilla but maybe only picking that up due to the title of the beer? Taste comprises chocoalte, dark malt, subtle roast, more vanilla than the nose, sweetish tones. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent well rounded porter.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at the Bristol Beer Factory’s Factoberfest, September 2014. Near black with a slight, off-white, head. Dark chocolate, roasted malts and sweetish vanilla aroma. Full mouth feel, with toasty mlats, some subtle vanilla, leading to a dryish finish. Enjoyable.
