For a Rye, I was expecting something with more body and aromas. Ths beer is discreet, malt, bready, not so fruity, rather watery, some hop, 02.09.18, at Prélaz.

Cask half-pint in The Briar Rose, Birmingham on the morning of 20th May 2017. Mahogany coloured body with a decent beige head. Rye dominated aroma and taste, light spicey feel to the whole thing once you got past the Rye flavour.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. A golden amber pour with a loose cream coloured head; rye bread aroma; sour grainy taste with a fruity bitterness; and some toffee to finish. A pleasant, easy drinking rye beer.

Bottle @ Hart & Spool, Borehamwood. Dark amber-brown with a thin head. It’s a crisp, steady rye ale, with a palatable rawness to its taste, and has a gentle, but consistent darker fruitiness.

Smell of malt. Deep bronze colour, beige head. Aroma of rye, cognac, some rubber. Bitter, slightly sour. Half flat carbon, slightly oily texture. Dry palate. Apart from rubberiness, a nice rye.
