Good beers are only made from good quality ingredients. The lightly toasted malt flavours in this beer are derived from a single malt variety – Cassata malt – grown in Great Britain. The appetising golden hue of this beer is also derived entirely from the single malt variety. The citrus aroma of grapefruits compliments the malt, and comes from a single hop variety called Palisade, which is a new hop variety for Marston’s this year.

Cask at the Fly in the Loaf - Liverpool. Pours clear gold with a creamy, white head. The nose holds mild veggies, bread, grains and ripe orange. Light sweet flavor, mildly astringent with kitchen cleaning supplies, veg, bitter grain husks. Light bodidd with fine carbonation; so so condition. Slight bitter grass to finish, more bread, cleanser, grains, hay. A bit more ripe orange as well. Eh, not so good. Better at the end versus the beginning, but still.
