More lightly hopped than our bitters, its strength and colour reflects the characteristics of several early classic milds. A sweeter, more subtle beer for connoisseurs.

Bottle split at the Tropical Croydonia tasting on melt day, thanks to Ferris, 01/07/15. Mahogany brown with a well appointed beige covering. Nose is toffee, nutty, brown bread, light yeast, dark fruit rinds. Taste comprises fruit cake, toffee, dark malt, light spice trace, hint of almond, vanilla. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Decent strong mild.

Bottle thanks to Fergus at the Tropical Croydonia tasting. It pours deep red-brown with a thick, frothy light tan head. The nose is sweet roasty action, plenty of berry, sticky preserved fruits, plum, prune and date. The taste is bitter-sweet, Dandelion & Burdock, boozy boost, sweet roast, toffee, loads of dark fruit, plum, date, toasty sugars and alcohol warmth on the finish. Medium body and high, foamy carboantion. A bit foamy on the mouth-feel, but pretty alright anyhow.

Tropical Croydonia Bottle Share. Thanks to Fergus. Almost clear amber - brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is fairly smooth with mild fine carbonation. Caramel malts, slightly twangy. A trace of something marmite like. Finishes semi dry with spicy bitterness. All right.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Fergus. Pours clear brown with a frothy beige head. The nose has burnt toast, light solvent, earth, faint cocoa. Light to medium sweet flavor with so,e milk chocolate, dried berries, earthy hops, more toast. Light bodied with lively, velvety carbonation. Decent balance on the finish, some bittersweet cocoa, mild ash, more earth. Fine overall.
