Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Colin. Pours mostly clear gold with a foamy white head. The nose has some yeast, grain, maybe leaves. Medium sweet flavor with nips of brown sugar, toasty bread, light dough, mild grassy bitterness. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes sweet, lightly astringent, with mellow orange rind, grass, toasted grains. So so.

Bottle Drinkstore (020614) orange, hazy, frothy white head dissipates to nothing, nose of soft stone fruits, dull orange, light yeast, bit muted. Taste of wheat, cereal, yeasty, fairly spicy peppery, not much fruit - just dull hint of orange, slight ester, dab of alcohol. Bit more fruit comes through when luke warm. Soft carb, oily, powdery texture, heavy body for a saison, finish fairly bitter, bit dry, some bitter grains in the tail, slightly astringent. Overall - Fairly dull saison for me, bit above average

500mL bottle. Pours a dark amber, very small to nonexistent white head, no lacing. Orange zest, floral hops, spice in the aroma, suggesting a hoppier variety of saison. Taste is orange, lemon, yeast, some bubblegum. Finish is dry and short. Interesting interpretation of the style but overall it doesn’t meet the expectations of a Belgian saison. Very little yeast sourness, effervescence, and citrus notes of a traditional saison. This is like a cross between an IPA and a Belgian Ale.
