Cask @ Crosse Keys, London. Clear very dark brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, chocolate and lactose. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet and roasted light bitter finish. 041013

Cask @ Crosse Keys. Very dark brown with small off-white head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, caramel, bread and a little lacto. Flavour is malt, roasted, chocolate, lacto, medium sweet, carame, hop and a little bitter.

Cask @ Crosse Keys. Nice head with good durration. Color is dark brown. Aroma and taste are rich malt, licorice, caramel, little lactose sugar and hops. Nice dry finish where you taste more of the licorice.

Cask at the Plough and Harrow (JDW), Hammersmith. Black with a loose tan head; aroma of chocolate malt; some chocolate and fruit taste; with a sour fruity finish.

Cask handpump at the Castle Inn, Bradford-On-Avon, Wiltshire - Chocolate stout, dark maroon brown, small light tan head, milk chocolate aroma. Medium bodied with minimal carbonation. Very slight sherbet feel to the finish along with darker burned chocolate.

Cask at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green - 02/03/13. Light black with a thin tan head that retains well. Nose is cardboard, paper, light roast malt - on the thin side! Taste comprises roast malts, cardboard, light chocolate notes. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry finish. Pretty average stout which I wouldn’t seek out again!

Cask (handpump) @ NWAF 2012, National Winter Ales Festival, The Venue, Sheridan Suite, Manchester, England.Clear dark red brown color with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, caramel, roasted, wood, flowers. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, dark malt, wood, chimney smoke notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20120119]

Cask at Ealing beer festival 2011. A dark ruby/brown coloured pour with a medium beige head. Roasty, malty aroma. Tastes roasty, malty, chocolate, dark fruit, caramel. A nice stout.

Cask at NWAF, 2011. Dark brown pour with a white head. Coffee, dark chocolate and a little licorice in the nose. Vanilla, chocolate and smoky flavours. Dry with a slight bitter finish.
