Cask at CBC, Covent Garden on 13th January 2019. Sepia brown with pale tan foam and spot lacing. Rich and intense roasted malt aroma. Intense coffee malts and strong woodsmoke in-mouth, with a satisfying smoky malty finish. Full bodied with a substantial mouthfeel. Utterly superb.

Cask at the Euston Tap - London. Noted at 5.5%. Pours deep brown with a dense, creamy tan head. Nice roasted malts in the nose, mild smoked malts, some dry cocoa. Light sweet flavour with assertive ashy roast, bittersweet baking cocoa, scorched earth, coffee beans. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with robust ashy bitterness, continuing baking cocoa, some dried berries, dirt. Rather toothy, sturdy. Good stuff.

Can shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours dark brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of yeast, wood, smoke, chocolate, faint salt note. Taste is more of the same. Lacks body though.

Can thanks to minutemat. Appearance - opaque black with a nice fluffy head. Nose - a little elusive. Some pine. Yeast or is it a dry mineral note. Taste - more pine and light dry chocolate. Still the minerally note and the smoke. Palate - close to medium bodied with a long lean texture that lasts through the finish. Overall - was expecting something a bit more chocolate.

330ml can @ Blind Tiger, Shrewsbury. Pours dark brown with good tan head. Aroma is good meaty smoked malts, taste continues. Smooth, flavoursome, bright and enjoyable. An excellent smoked porter that, judging by the ratings below, is best enjoyed from a can rather than cask.

Fra cask på Pave Hull 24 Nov 15. Delt med Rune. Svart. Lavt, litt farget skum. Bra aroma av røstet malt. Smaken litt søt lakris. Avslutninga er røstet malt. Søtt helhetsinntrykk.

Half-pint hand pulled from cask at Pave in Hull. Remaining fawn-coloured head blanketing the glass. Black body with a rustic glint. Dark malty aroma, ashy. Lightly smoked dark malty flavours, hints of chocolate and leafy hops towards the ending. Medium bodied. Nice (Shared with Finn, 24.11.2015).
