Keg at the Rake during the Partizan tap takeover - London. Pours oily black with a creamy tan head. The nose holds good roast, chocolate, dark fruits. Medium sweet flavor with further dark fruits, mild cherry tang, rich chocolate malts. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Finishes with strong baking cocoa, some oily vanilla, dark fruit and cherry accents. Very good.

Rake. Keg. Opaque brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry with decent fine carbonation. Nice dark malts, fairly rich but no harshness or bitterness. Smooth dark malt cream and mild dark chocolate. The modest vanilla accentuates the chocolate. Cherry led fruits come to the for on the backend as do mild esters and a touch of coffee. Fairly dry finish. Tasty enough.

Keg at the Rake, Borough Market, London. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a thin beige head on top. Sweet, roasty, vanilla, cherry aroma. Tastes similar vanilla, cherry, quite sweet. Decent stout but a little on the sweet side.

Keg at the rake. Opaque sticky caramel brown coloured pour with a fleeting dark tan head. Aroma is big bakewell tart, sticky treacle, vanilla, some Christmas spices, quite sweet on the nose. Flavour is full chocolate , vanilla, treacle, tangy fruits in the finish. Like sweet cherry bakewell in a glass. Some Christmas pudding. Palate is fullish bodied, sweet, moderate carbonation. Semi dry finish keeps it from being too cloying. Interesting and flavoursome.

Keg at the Rake. It pours opaque black with a decent tan head. The nose is big sweet vanilla, juicy, sweet cherry bakewell tart, almond, marzipan, roasted malts, touch of coffee and liquorice in the background. The taste is smooth, bitter-sweet, roasted malts, coffee, sweet cherry, vanilla, charcoal, some acidity, light astringency, liquorice and bakewell tart. Medium+ body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. The aroma is intoxicating! Taste doesn’t quite match up, but it’s still rather nice. Good stuff.
