Cask at the Prince Arthur (JDW), Fleet. Bright straw with a thin white head; sweet aromatic aroma; syrupy with an oddly metallic taste to start, then perhaps showing some resin, balanced by a sweet grainy body; with some honey to finish. Strange.

Cask handpull at Muggletons Maidstone Jdw. Clear gold lasting white head. Yes some resiny hop no doubt. Pine. The hop is not balanced by enough malt so it just becomes hop tea with no malt backbone. I like the hop but it’s watery lacks condition and any balance with the malt. Hmmmm. No off flavours just not good.

Cask at the White Lady. Pours clear golden with a thin white head. Aromas of tropical fruit and citrus, faint pine, strong nose. Taste is bitter citrus, faint mango. Slightly thin finish...doesn’t quite deliver on the promise of the aroma, like so many things in life.

On cask at the Standing Order. Appearance - golden with a decent head. Nose - citrus and tropical but hard to nail exactly what. Taste - passion fruit and lime. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry tangy finish. Overall - good ale, gets slightly too bitter eventually.
