33 cl bottle from De Bierkoning @ home. Cloudy amber color. Big almost white head, rocky, with good retention and some lacing. Aroma’s: resin/pine, citrus/lemon, herbs (lavender notably). Herbal aroma is stronger retronasal, also with light laurel/drop/aniseed. Flavor is moderate bitter, herbal, with a light sweetness. Medium bodied. Quite high carbo. Finish is firm bitter, herbal. Lavender’s a strange herb to add to beer, and I wouldn’t want this every day, but actually I quite like this,

Bottle shared. Pours very hazy golden brown with a thick off white head. Aroma of fresh weedy hops and massive lavender like an old lady’s bathroom. Flavour is light to light moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter. Light medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

33cl bottle courtesy of and shared with Kermis. Creamy white head. Hoppy aroma. Cloudy blond pour. A bit too yeasty. A decent IPA though.

Bottle that I picked up in Amsterdam, consumed at home Sunday 4th October 2014. Pours murky light yellowy gold with a few floaty bits of sediment in suspension. Aroma is clean but then displays a slight cleaning product type whiff, not great. This could have been a good beer but sadly it ain’t. The base beer (IPA) is ok or better than ok but the addition of Lavender (I think) and something else pretty much undoes much of the good work, actually it tastes much improved when accompanied by a Belgian Chocolate and ginger biscuit. Loz couldn’t finish her beer. A4 A3 T5 P2 Ov9 2.3

33cl Bottle, generous gift from De Bierkoning, cheers! Murky/muddy golden yellow colour, white head. Enormous amount of yeast, typical of NHB. Aroma of lavender, more herbal than soapy, lemongrass, light minty, yeast, light fruity. Flavour is light sweet, floral, herbal, lavender, mint, lots of yeasty off-flavours (mainly plastic), citrus, firm yeasty and herbal bitter finish. Light-bodied. Could be so much better with a whole lot less yeast.
