Keg at Route CBC, CBC Clapham, 02/10/15. Caramel brown coloured pour with a sticky thin tan head. Aroma is nutty and toasty, light spices, cinnamon and mineraal. Flavour is composed of toasted brown bread, nutty malts, mineral and spicy fruits. Didn’t get very much saison character. Palate is bit thin, moderate carbonation.

Keg at Route CBC, CBC Clapham, 02/10/15. Light black with a decent tam covering. Nose is straw, earthy, bitter red berry fruit. Taste comprises farmyard, tangy berry, blackcurrant, ashen notes, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok dark saison, but as with all dark saions, never as good as a light one!

Craft Clapham. Keg. Route 66 event with most of the London crew. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small cream colour head. Palate is light and mildly crisp. Tangy thin dark malts. Lightly tangy dark fruits, trace of hop orange. Light crisp finish. Not bad.

Draft at Craft Beer Co. Clapham during Route CBC - London. Pours clear brown with a frothy, tan head. The nose holds moderate ripe berries, light yeast, brown bread. Light sweet flavor with tangy fruits, bread, light funk. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Modest sweetness in the finish, a decent lick of funk, more bread, leathery fruits. Tasty stuff.

Tap at Route CBC. It pours clear deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is toasty, roasted malt, spice, caramel, charred stuff and earth. The taste is toasty, earthy roast, mild spice, charred wood and a touch of acidity. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Toasty, earthy and lightly spiced. No real depth to it unfortunately. The barrel-aged versions is much better imo.
