Bottled. A red-brown beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, roasted malt, and metal. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, roaseted malt, and metal, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours an opaque black with a light brown head. Heavy booze in the nose with distinct wood and whisky. Rich body, lowish carbonation, sweet roast, a little ashes and a lovely woody whisky note with quite some alcohol in the finish. 080614

Bottled from Burg Bieren, dated Dec 2013, large sample, served in a snifter. Dark color, short head, mostly some brownish frothy lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate, some vanilla, oak wood, bit whisky, some roast, hint of smoke, even a hint of juniper. Truly wonderful aroma. Some sweetness in taste, bit bitter. Slight alcohol burn, but in a nice way. Medium bodied, could be a bit thicker if I had to name a downside. Whisky blends really nice with the RIS. Especially the aroma is absolutely fantastic.

Bottle. Pours black with light head. Aromas of liquorice, rich chocolate, vanilla, and roasted malts. Flavours are rich and similar, with creamy and very subtle flavours of whiskey and oily chocolate. Exquisite.

Bottle at home, 3rd April 14, smells of vanilla, sweet molasses, taste is a little sickly, too sweet, some vanilla, a little whiskey and some barrel, good, but needs refinement, palate could be a little luxurious

Bottle at my 5K tasting thanks to Josh. It pours darkest brown with a minimal tan head. The nose is earthy, medicinal, cocoa, toffee, candy and butterscotch. The taste is sweet, brown sugar, earth, vanilla, candy, coconut, some spice and medicinal notes with a dry finish. Medium-full body and fine carbonation. Pretty easy going given the abv. Solid.
