500ml bottle. Pours black. Toast, touch of parmesan, orange peel, grapefruit, touch of dankness. Nothing particularly exciting.

Level 42 Bottleshare. Thanks to Big Dave for the long haul. Almost clear brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is light, semi dry and modest carbonation. Smooth dark malts, trace of dark chocolate. Little dark malt cream. Modest ripe fruits. Mild pine, marmalade and hop spice. Smooth semi dry finish. Nicely fruity and smooth.

Bottle thanks to Dave. It pours dark brown with a small off-white head. The aroma is roasted malt, soapy citrus, charred pine, dried fruits and coffee grounds. The taste is smooth upfront, bitter, charred pine, peppery spice, malt loaf, earth, coffee grounds and dull soap with a lingering bitter roast finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Actually not bad.

Bottle at Level 42, thanks to Wingmane, 09/06/16. Dark mahogany brown with a decent khaki head. Nose is light pine, tea leaves, herbal notes, toffee, touch of roast, perfume. Taste comprises light cocoa, hop dusting, light pine trace, toffee, brown bread. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close dashed with leafy hop bitterness. Ok CDA but not top draw.

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Dave. Pours clear brown with a creamy, tan head. Burnt pine in the nose, some orange rind. Light to medium sweet flavor with well toasted bread, grain, rindy citrus, more orange, earth, faint cocoa, caramel. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly resinous on the finish, a little warming, with some ripening citrus, bitter rind, pine. Nice one.
