Bottle shared at the Cotteridge Convention - 2016 edition. Cheers! Pours unclear brown with a creamy, tan head. The nose holds burnt toast, pine, light earth. Medium sweet flavour with more toasted bread, earthy bitterness, pine, pithy orange, citrus rind. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Lightly resinous on the finish with notes of burnt toast, grain, earth, light cocoa. Good CDA.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Cotteridge, Birmingham, West Midlands, Friday 4th March 2016 Pours dark brown with a sticky off white head. A lovely streaky citrus stream runs through this, soft in the mouth, the hoppiness is a builder, it’s not instant. A little ashy roastiness, I like it, but it was a grower. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

Cask. Gravity dispense. 41st Steel City Beer Festival. Clear, very dark red. A few tan bubbles. Pretty well balanced nose of orange and grapefruit hop, and roasty, coffee grind malts. Taste is woody bitter. Pithy gear. Decent body. Drys out a tad. Finishes mostly pithy bitter, with a soft, brown sugar sweet edge.
