Seasonal Beer.
Our bokbier that rings in the autumn every year. Dark and full-bodied, but not as sweet as you would expect. The fine, light brown head holds for a long time while the dark, black-brown beer releases the aromas of the roasted malt: brown sugar, caramel and beautiful, dark fruit. The aftertaste is pleasantly dry.

Draught, half pint. Tasted on the 25/11/2018 at Brouwerij 't IJ, Amsterdam (The Netherlands). Clear copper colour with a medium and foamy white head. Aroma is full of caramel, toffee, dark fruits and some dark bread. Taste is the same, with strong presence of caramellish malts. Finish is medium dry. Next one please!

Thuis uit een flesje. Roodbruine kleur, als ik het glas tegen het licht houd, mooie rode glans. Beige schuim, maar helaas weinig. Zoet aroma, maar de smaak ook wat bitter. Zeker geen te zoet bokbier, aardig, maar geen topper.

Pours dark caramelly brown with a copper glow. nearly no head, that aint to stable anyway. Smell is breadcrust, some esthers and phenols (typical german style ) medium-low in intensity. Taste is coffee, roasty, dark malts ( caramel, some minor breadcrusty notes ) , medium high intensity. Hidden esthers and phenols, but they're not absent. rather thin body, medium carbo. mild bitterness ( somewhat grassy hops ) OK

Flesje thuis gedronken. Donkerbruin bier met flinke schuimkraag. Aroma is moutig en karamel achtig. Smaak van donker fruit, koffie en salmiak. Ietsje zoet.nasmaak is iets bitter en ebt snel weg.

12oz bottle on the streets of Amsterdam...not the first time. Smooth, on the lighter side of full bodied. Doughy, rich yeast tones too. Quite well done. Deep Dutch malt tones. Great.

Zwart bier met stevig schuim. Smaak is bitter hoppig en niet zoet, met iets van pruimen, rozijn en karamel. Erg goede bok.

Bottle from Albert Heijn. Dark brown, creamy foam. Nose of dark fruit, sweet malts, some roastiness, bitter and dry finish. Well balanced good bock.
