BD Clap J. Choc milkshake aroma - not getting the jaffa. Oil black. Biege head soon retreats to just ring the glass. Sweet - a stab of bitterness - more sweetness. Starts of chocolatie, the jaffa comes through in the finish. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Does not overdo the sweetness.

Reddish brown beer with a thin head. Aroma is light chocolate and bitter orange. Taste is similar. Bitter orange, creamy chocolate, a tart hoppiness, toast, toffee. Manages to have distinct elements of a creamy stout and a lighter, paler, fruitier beer.

Keg at BDSB - London. Pours black-brown with a creamy, khaki head. Mild roast in the nose, some chicory, cocoa, raisins. Light to medium sweet flavour with notes of baking cocoa, scorched earth, old berries. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Nicely balanced to close, with more ashy roast, bittersweet chocolate, dried and leathery berries, raisins, some woody dryness. Lingering ashy bitterness in the aftertaste. Good overall.
