Cask at Pembury T. It pours clear golden with a small bubbly white head. The aroma is sweet, oily, orange sherbet, kumquat, tangerine, pithy, perfumed. The taste is bitter, oily, resinous, orange, kumquat, Cointreau, mild astringency, peppery spice, waxy, tannin, pine, pithy, alcohol boost and candied peel with a drying finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Decent enough stuff.

Cask at the Pembury Tavern - Havkney. Pours totally clear gold with a frothy, white head. The nose holds lightly ripened citrus fruits, orange rind, mellow pine, pale bread. Light-medium sweet flavour with modest oily pine, some chewy citrus, supportive pae bready malts, low bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; decent condition. Pretty well balanced on the finish, with more bready pale malts, some alcohol warmth, subtle pine resin, undertones of melon, mango. The hops are there, but it’s all a bit understated. Still, it drinks well.

Gravity cask at the 2017 Cambridge Winter Ales Festival. Light gold, clear with some head-impersonating bubbles on top. Aroma is heavy with dried banana and cantaloupe, with some light citrus and nutty notes. It’s sweet for the style, but tempered by the bitterness of the generous Mosaic. While it works for this particular beer, the flat oily body may not be to everyone’s taste. This is an unusual and refreshing beer. I really took to it. Goodnight Irene, I’ll see you in my dreams...
