Inspired by classically tart and refreshing Berliner Weisse flavor profile, RedBud is light and lemony with a crisp acidity. It is brewed with a lactic culture to create the classic sour-citrusy lemon flavor and finished with high carbonation. Founders Rob and Amy Cartwright say the inspiration for the name came from the popular local swimming hole, Red Bud Isle, which similarly provides much-needed refreshing relief during the long hot Texas summers.

On tap at Independent, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out light lacto, some citrus, and light spiciness. Flavour is a lacto bomb, with lots of yogurt, a touch of citrus and a hint of earthy spiciness. Lacto bomb all over. Nice stuff.

T42 Bottleshare. Thanks to Paul for the can. Light haze on this paleish gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, dry and has modest fine carbonation. Dry seltzer. Good floral lemon and lime that turns very slightly acid. Light dry finish. Tangy lemon - lime linger. Nice.

Can shared in London - thanks to Scopey. Pours clear pale yellow with a light creamy head. Nice pithy lemon in the nose, soft funk, wheat. Light sweet flavour with relaxed acidity, more lemony character, a little salty bite. Light bodied with massaging carbonation. Nicely balanced finish, with more tart lemon, dried wheat. Quenching. Good.

Can shared at level 42. It pours clear pale yellow with a massive white head. The aroma is tart, sour, lemon juice, lime, green apple, cheesy, lactic, yogurt and tang. The taste is crisp, dry, mellow tartness, lactic, green apple, lemon - lime, citrus peel, cracker, citric acidity, lactic, creamy yoghurt vibe and straw with a dry finish. Light - medium body and fine carbonation. Not a huge amount of depth, but drinks easy.
