An oxymoron maybe, but when it tastes this good who cares?
The bitter, aromatic hoppy punch you love about an India Pale Ale, with a slightly darker, more roasted malt twist, whilst remaining light and refreshing.
Hops: Cascade, Bravo & Azacca
Malt: Pale, Vienna, Carafe Special II & Light Crystal

330ml can, thanks to Simon for this! Pours dark, nice fluffy off-white head. Aroma bears some nice pine, dark malts. Taste has nice piney herbal hop traits, dark malt hints but bearing a nice light body. Pleasant easy going Black IPA with character

Can - big thanks to Colin for the gift. Opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Airy palate, smooth and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Fluffy dark brown, trace of dry cream but also earthy bitterness. Trace of pine and some very modest dark fruits. Dry finish leaves a tangy bitter linger. Quite a malt forward CDA but it's fine.

Can shared in Hackney - thanks to Daniel. Pours deep brown with a creamy, tan head. Dusty cocoa in the snout, some earth, a little roast. Light sweet flavour with some dried berries, toasted pine, burnt earth. Light bodied with lively carbonation. Finishes with nice chocolatey notes, a little ashy roast, old leather. So so.

Can at Bodney Mansions, big thanks to Danny Boyo for the Seedy Aye, 31/08/17. Light black with a decent tan covering. Nose is pine needle, spice, straw, grains, brown bread, cocoa tinkle. Taste comprises dusty hops, light charr, faint pine, liquorice, biscuit, cocoa rinse. Medium bodied, spritzy gassy overcarbed affair, semi drying close. Ok stab at a CDA I guess but the carbonation lets it down a few notches.
