Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - golden with a proportionate head. Nose - lemon and orange with malty backdrop. Taste - more tangy orange melded with biscuity malt. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - yes a decent ESB or English Strong Ale.

500ml bottle at the ’Are We Nearly There Yet? Yorkshire beer tasting with AshtonMcCobb. Murky gold bitty pour, thin white head. Aromas of almonds/marzipan/nail varnish remover. Taste is better, ESB nuttiness and biscuit. Boozy lemon finish. OK.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a malty hop orange citrus. The flavour is medium bitter with a zesty citrus light sherbet malt hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. The alcohol is well hidden.

Clear gold beer, big cream coloured head. Palate is dry and minerally crisp. Thin malt cream and a whisper of brandyish alcohol. Little orange peep. Dry finish brings a whisper of spice. Not bad apart from being a bit over dry.

500ml bottle - a bit livelier than the other Axholmes I’ve had, deep cloudy brown body, thin frothy white head. Nose of rich citrus. malts and a little bit of booze in there. A strange sourness to the taste, spices, bitter oranges, sour candy. An odd mouthfeel, rather buttery in texture, the carbonation initially there soon goes. Very complex and hard to fathom out.
