1/4/2019. Bottle from Message In A Bottle, Cleethorpes. Pours pale amber with a small lasting off-white head. Aroma of toffee, malt, hops, fruit, oak, dried fruit and fruit cake. Medium plus sweetness, light bitterness. Medium body sticky texture, soft carbonation. Warming, alcohol finish. Very drinkable and easily the bext I've had from Axholme so far.

Cask at the Strugglers Inn, Lincoln. Dark gold, clear with a full off-white head. Toffee, honey, strong brandy on the nose. Tastes sweet, with just a bit of balancing astringent hop in the massively boozy finish. There's some soft natural carbonation which lifts the already full natural body. A good beer, there's not a lot going on but there doesn't need to be.

Bottle from Beer Gonzo webshop, consumed at home Thursday 11th February 2016 Hazy amber colour, a bit grubby looking, an off-white head sits atop. Loz gets Pear drops on the nose, I cannot say that I do. A little chewy in the mouth, fruity with a little tart fruit skin. Some of the flavour is reminiscent of a more traditional style but it’s good. Some sweet muddy citrus flavours (sweet orange) soggy bread, Pear drops (just a touch) good beer. A7 A3 T7 P3 Ov14 3.4
