Grunge Ipa has a beautiful deep amber color, tending to red. The foam that forms is white, compact and persistent. Captivating and pimping at the same time, it releases at the same time, but with excellent balance, sweet malty fragrances and strong hoppy aromas with clear hints of tropical fruit and refreshing resinous, herbaceous and pine needles notes.

On the palate the malty profile prevails, which, sweet and caramelized, leads to what is the trademark of this beer: hopping.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a lazing orangey head. The aroma has notes of hops, malt, caramel, and lemons. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, bread, lemons, and hops, leading to a bitter and lemony finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Bottle from Classic Deli aka Dodgy Deli’, Cowley Rd, Oxford Friday 3rd August 2012 consumed at home the same day. Pours reddy/amber with a slim white head. Nice aroma a little pine perhaps then citrus. Streaky lemon in mouth then settles to a soft pulpy cooked lemon, nicely bitter with good bittersweet zappiness. Loz wasn’t so fussed on this at first but we both now agree that this is a slow burner and real grower. Great. A6 A4 T8 P4 Ov14 3.6

Draught Yellowish-cream head over very hazy red-amber beer. USA hops, very fruity, some sulphur, and also pollen. Sweet-bitterish. Fruity as in lytchee, rosewater and leafy/blossoms. But the general impression is a tad lame, certainly for a beer that was announced for 9.5% ABV in the pub (mistake?). Warming up, more aromatic-fruity flavours arise, bit of banana. Well-bodied, tad viscous/(hop)oily, very light alcoholimpression. Quite nice, and easy drinkable (9.5%?), but certainly not stellar.

Draft sample @ Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas // Italian Beer Festival // (a) touch darker amber with a bubbly head // (s) american, fruity grapefruit hops, touch pine and caramel but mainly first, quite fruity // (t) carries over the fruity hops from the nose, tropical fruits, grapefruit, quite fruity upfront, touch sweetness, hint caramel, nectar, going into a medium length hop bitter, quite grass heavy finish // (b) m/m // solid IPA, that doesn’t particularly jump out, except for the fact that it is from Italy
