Mmmm. Barrel-aged imperial dark saison? Don't mind I do, especially from my favorite J-brewers.

Bodney Towers bottle share. Thanks to Leighton. Almost opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Smooth and slightly soft palate, modest fine carbonation. Smooth malts, a light creamy sweetness. Spicy licorice and spicy red and black berries. Semi dry finish. Unusual and tasty.

Bottle at Bodney - thanks to Leighton! It pours near brown - black with a beige head. The aroma is soft, sweet, oily, candy, dark fruits, toasted nut, roasted malt, cocoa and milk chocolate. The taste is soft, sweet, sticky, toasty, roasted malt, earth, oiliness, resin, cocoa, spice, dark fruits and some warming alcohol with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Interesting stuff.

Bottle @ home, most likely from an IP trade with TimE, thanks! Color is very dark, almost black, looks like a stout. Dense beige head, with short retention. Aroma's: sweetish fruit, light vegetal, a bit poop. Retronasal it's sweetish, boozy (at first), fruity, a bit woody, light herbal. Flavor is light moderate sweet with light wood and light bitterness. Medium bodied. Finishes with some wood, light bitterness.

Bottl shared in Hackney - many thanks to TimE for the trade. Pours deep brown with a small, creamy beige head. Nice aroma, some burnt wood, honey, butterscotch, toffee. Medium to heavy sweet flavour, some chewy toffee, more brown bread, berries, low bitterness. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, lightly warming, more dried berries, earth, toffee. Nice depth, pretty good balance. Very good.

Bottle thanks to TimE. Pours a dark brown color with a medium brown head. A big fruity vinous nose. The flavor is sweet banana, anise, wood, brown sugar. Quite German. Big sweet BA beer. A bit like a HOTD
