As the Troll Wars grind to a stalemate, an ancient and devastating weapon will change the course of history.
Everything about this beer is big, from it’s effect on the Troll Wars down to it’s big malt backbone which supports a big bitterness and more hops than in any of our other beers. This Double IPA has flavours of grapefruit, orange and lemon with an underlying floral quality.

500ml bottle from brewery @ 8%. Look - murky mahogany, small off white cap, nice retention. Nose - biscuit malts, citrus notes, stewed tropical fruits but undefined. Taste - biscuit malts, some spice, stewed citrus and tropical fruit. Moderate bitterness with spice and a sweet tang to finish which helps give it a lightness. Palate - medium to full bodied, soft carbonation. Overall - my interpretation is this is an Imperial IPA rather than a double hopped IPA particularly with the malt focus. However, its balanced, there is a nice bite to this beer and I found it very enjoyable.

T42 Christmas Bottleshare. Thanks to Wingman. Light haze on this gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, low carbonation. Smooth malts, some caramel. Ripe citrus and ripe citrus peel. Mild pine. Semi dry finish. A bit stodgy with its low carbonation.

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to dirty Dave. Pours dirty gold with a creamy, white head. The nose holds ripe citrus, hay, rind, pale bread. Medium sweet flavour with flinty dryness, melon, crunchy pale grains, grass. Medium bodied, lightly oily, with fine carbonation. Grassy bitterness to finish, some rind, dirty grains. So so overall.

Stubby bottle care of Dave. It pours hazy orange - amber with a small white head. The aroma is earthy, musty, oily, stewed orange, tangy, Irn Bru, candied fruits, musty, funk and tangerine. The taste is dry, bitter, oily, earthy, musty, brown brown, dirt, funk, alcohol, spice, oily, stewed orange, Cointreau and warming alcohol with a drying finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and slick mouth - feel. Odd, but not bad.

Bottle split at the L42 Xmas Boost Up '17, thanks to Willis, 18/12/17. Murky orange amber with a decent off white / light beige cap. Nose is sharp citrics, spice, orange peel, orange marmalade, caramel, biscuit. Taste comprises biscuit malt, spice, orange peel, bitter citrics, grassy. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, drying close with earthy hop bitterness. Old skool bite ... executed Ok but not to a great level.
