I am addicted to the darkness between worlds…
A 10% imperial stout. Jet black with aromas of dark fruits and smooth caramel. A soft, sweet, silky mouthfeel leads to hints of burnt biscuits, raisins notes & subtle coffee ending in a bitter dark chocolate finish.⁣

Can, 0.44l. Aroma of cocoa, dried fruit, licorice and roasted malt. Pours pitch black color with large soapy brown head and soft visible carbonation. Taste starts with sweet and rich roasted malt, chocolate, dried fruit and whiskey, following is leathery, woody and umami, mouthfeel is warm alcoholic, while finish is average grassy bitter. Full body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Fear of alcohol…

On tap. Pours black with moderate foamy dark tan head. Aromas of creamy chocolate and slick roasted malts. Flavors of licorice, soy sauce, black coffee and oily roasted malts. A little distracting ABV and gum burn in the finish but otherwise solid . Very nice.

440ml can kindly shared by Finn. Large fawn-coloured head slowly diminishing over a jet black body. Spotty lacing. Dark malt-forward aromas of liquorice and coffee-chocolate, nicely roasted, inviting. Black chocolate flavours supported by liquorice, coffee hints, and a bite of prunes. Coffee impact to a roasted, long-lived ending. Full bodied. Enjoying slow sipper. (Tromsø 31.05.2021).

Can from the Growlers and Cans stall at West Byfleet Farmers Market. Aroma of sweet dark berries and glue. Boozy edge. Dark and glossy brown with a red tint. Tan head soon fades away. Bitter core. Liquorice. Dark coffee. But there's a sweet berry and burnt caramel dose over the top. Boozy bite. Medium-heavy bodied. Oily. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long finish. Big luxurious sipper.

Keg at Beer Gonzo Taproom, Earlsdon, Coventry, Good Friday, 30th March 2018. Pours black with a slim cappuccino coloured head. Smooth, rich and with a good chocolate flavour. A very good Impy from a brewery more known for their hop charged beers. A8 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.9
