Brekeriet White Label

Brekeriet Cassis is a sour ale mainly fermented with Brettanomyces yeast. Black currant is added during the secondary fermentation and this yeast loves berries which is shown in the fantastic taste of the beer. Brekeriet Cassis is refermented in the bottle which gives a thin layer of yeast at the bottom of the bottle.

Purplish colour with no head. On the nose, has a nice cassis aroma with a touch of wildness and lactic. The black currant character is really nice, the brett isn’t bad. The body is decent fullness. A bit tart is the finish.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy bright pink with a small white head. Aroma is super pithy, with lots of tart black currant, brett and pithy notes. Flavour is super pithy and fruity, with tons of lightly tart black currant, heaps of pith, and light brett. Very fruity, with a tart and pithy finish. Very bright and certainly unique. Very good.

4 oz. draft, Copenhagen Brewfest, Boston. Deep Violet color. Aroma shows me blackberries and tart funky raspberry. Like notes of acid.

Currents and raspberry jam like notes with sharp lemon acidic tartness. Pucker is pretty intense. Lightly tannic. Jeez almost to much for my palate. Sometimes I like fruited sours and other times... Not so much.
