Brewed with our friends from Fieldwork Brewing Co as a tribute to Mosaic, Enigma and mid-90s video games. For this DIPA we chose a blend of Maris Otter, pale malt, oats and Caramalt to give us the best platform to show off the tropical dank-juice character of our favourite hop varieties.

Can from Cotteridge Wines; clear amber pour with a massive white head, aroma has sweet caramel and citrus, taste has melon, citrus, dank pine doesn’t drink like a DIPA because I could probably have a session on it

440ml can from Hop Burns & Black. Pours dark orange with a smooth white head. Aroma of oily tropical hops, herbal notes, grass, pine, petrol and citrus. Taste is sweetish, caramely malty and resinous hoppy with hints of pine, grass, dankness and tropical oily fruitiness. Finish is resinous, caramely malty and sweetish with some pine, grass, herbal hops, hints of tropical fruits. A bit unbalanced and harsh.

Can from Beer Gonzo Webshop, Earlsdon, Coventry, consumed at home Saturday 24th March 2018 whilst cooking Chicken Stew with Langoustines from Catalonia cook book. Hazy dark gold/light amber with a sticky white head. Quite thick in the mouth, perhaps a touch sweet the malt certainly takes centre stage but it is a decent pushy DIPA, the hops do eventually show but its more for me the malt base in this DIPA, the Enigma hops were perhaps deployed a little differently in the Cloudwater DIPA last night but even that you realised that this hop isn't aggressive in the way some are. A very nice beer whatever way you look at it with a sweet light tropical edge. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

Been hearing good things about Burnt Mill. This beer? Exceeds any expectations I had. A stunning DIPA!

Can at home picked up from bottle shop. A clear reddy amber coloured pour with an attractive sticky beige head. Aroma is sweet brown malts, chewy jammy hops, resinous. Not very dank on the nose. Flavour is composed of sweet amber malts, toasted biscuity malts, jammy fruit, pine. Chewy hop. Palate is medium sweet, chewy, moderate carbonation. Bit disappointed. Not dank enough.

Can at The Bottle Shop Margate. Hazy amber colour lasting cream head. Big hoppy and dank aroma. Some sweet malt some biscuit even. Virtually no bitterness. Some sweetish orange some grapefruit. Aroma is dank caramel to me with some light citrus. More of a citrus dip than tropical fruit. Starts so so and improves as the fruit comes through. Orange flavour on finish with a touch of sourness. Pretty good. Hides abv well. Light agile beer.

Can at home, watching Ireland vs Scotland, 10/03/18. Almost clear golden amber with a well appointed off white head that retains well. Nose is bitter orange, grassy notes, caramel, pine dusting, semi dank hop exhaust. Taste comprises grapefruit, pine resin, caramel, bitter sweet tropical fruits, orange wine gums, toasted malts, sweet ripe melon, roasted mango. Medium plus body, fine carbonation, drying close peppered with juicy come danko hop bitterness. Solid DIPA.

Can. Turner’s, Sheffield. Pale copper colour. Moderate haze. Messy, super sticky, leggy, lacing, white head. Handsome beer. Nose has, according to the missus, “paint stripper”. I’m going for skunky resin. Brûléed citrus. Caramel. Mint leaf. Taste is chewy sweet, and full, resinous bitter. Rich on the palate. A bit sticky and syrupy. Feels a bit stewed on the finish.

Can thanks to Dan. It pours clear copper with a thick off-white head. The aroma is sticky, sweet, oily, resinous, touch green, danky, brown bread and dusty peach. The taste is sticky, sweet, oily, slick, green, weedy, dank, chewy, heavy, brown bread, toffee, peach, mango, bit of booze and spice with a drying and chewy finish. Medium body and highish foamy carbonation. A bit heavy for the style. Not so bad.
