Bottle split at LKS, 03/08/15. Light black topped with a decent tan swirl. Nose is charr, light smoke, dark malts, chocolate, toffee. Taste comprises molasses, dark chocolate, liquorice, soy sauce, light spice. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light booze tickle. A touch thin and rather whelming for the style.

(Bottle, 0.33, at Tommyknocker Helsinki, 20150722) The beer poured black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had liquorice, burnt malts and booze. Palate was full bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Aftertaste had burtness, saltiness and bitterness. A good but boozy imperial stout.

Bottleshare at Leighton’s Stratoflat. Thanks to Dan for this Metro Man. Opaque dark brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is light and semi dry. Modest fine carbonation. Dry and thin dark malts. Bitterish dark chocolate. Tangy dark fruits. Quite a bitter finish, some unusual floral bitterness and bitter coffee. Spicy warm linger. A bit rough round the edges but okay.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Daniel. Pours black with a frothy beige head. Burnt malts and cereal in the nose, cocoa, scorched earth. Medium sweet flavor with oily chocolate, some cloying sugars, burnt wood, baking cocoa. Medium to full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, oily, with more bittersweet chocolate, light metal, ash. So so.

Bottle thanks to Dan. It pours darkest brown with a tiny light tan head. The nose is toasty, cocoa, oily, nutty accents, Ferraro Roche, caramelised hazelnut and burnt caramel. The taste is rich, bitter, oily, nutty, cocoa, alcohol boost, spicy, chilli action and coffee grounds with a lingering spicy finish. Full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth - feel. A tad underwhelming.
