Keg at MacKinlays Inn, Stockholm. Black, small beige head. Chocolate and caramel up front. Very sweet with full body and sticky mouthfeel. Boozy alcohol, resiny bitter hops. Syrupy caramel and milk chocolate dominates. Edgy, aggressive and simplistic.

Bottle (from Uba ja Humal, Tallinn). Pours black with beige head. The head stays. Aroma is sweetness, chocolate, vanilla. Flavor is sweet, dark chocolate, malt, vanilla. Finish is dark chocolate bitter with touch of alcohol. Overall: great brew.

(Draught at Man in the Moon, Stockholm, 8 May 2015) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with liquorice, salmiac and dark chocolate. Malty, roasted taste with notes of liquorice, salmiac, dark chocolate, coffee and a dry, slightly metallic bitterness in the finish. Full body, quite dry. Tasty and well made, possibly a bit sharp around the edges. Nice one.

Bouteille 310ml, BB 06.2016, lot#001 via trade with Marlos. Brune foncée, doré au verre, col crémeux moka. Arôme aux belles notes maltées, caramel avec un aspect mélanoide assez doux et une petite touche de réglisse ainsi que de chocolat. Palais est épais et laisse de suite la place aux 10% de cette bière. Plein de malts et une certaine épaisseur rappelant l’avoine et une pointe de réglisse? Grillé et chocolaté à souhait avec un petit côté crystal voire mélasse collant aux lèvres. Amertume perce en fin de bouche apportant une note fleurie. Le tout garde une touche fruitée rappelant la prune et date.

330ml bottle from Saveur-Biere.com. Pours extremely dark with decent tan head. Aroma is fresh roasted malts and edgy hops. Taste is rich, sumptuous, deep & oily with herbal / liquorice notes emerging in the aroma and taste as it warmed. A thoroughly enjoyable Imperial Stout.

A black beer with a small and milk coffee brown head. Aroma has coffee, quite sweet and also roasted, some salt liquirice and hint of peppermint. Taste is roasted with coffee, some liquirice, herbal bitterness is medium and it’s nicely balancing the sweetness. Full bodied, low carbonation, not sticky. Lots of flavours have included into this IS.

Sehr dunkelbraune/schwarze Farbe, große cremige bräunliche Schaumkrone. Geruch schokoladig, Vanille, leicht alkoholisch, reife Früchte. Geschmack süß schokoladig, Kaffee, Vanillle, spürbar alkoholisch, lecker!

Bottle @ home. Opaque dark brown to black color, medium sized light brown head. Aroma and taste are malts, roasted malts, chocolate, lightly earthy, a slight hint of sweetness. Oily texture, medium to full body, suitable quite soft carbonation. Lovely beer.

Black color with medium beige head. Aroma is malty, but dry bready malt. Wood. Taste is burnt malt, coffee, earthy. Maybe fennel. Not very complex. Smooth texture. Not rich enough for an Imperial Stout imho.
