2015 GABF gold medal and 2014 GABF silver medal in the imperial stout category. Double Negative pours jet black with burnt orange highlights. A long lasting tan head leaves abundant lacing. Aromas bursting from the glass include espresso, bitter chocolate, caramel, black currant and blueberry. Creamy and viscous on the palate, the flavor initially follows the nose. A pop of smooth bitterness comes after, and then a lingering, roasty finish.

Batch 3 at rattle fresh of gold medal GABF win although that was batch 2 probably. Deep dark brown rather small head. Nose is roasted malt, dark chocolate, and dark fruits. Tastes of the same roasted malt, plums, black currants, oats, dark chocolate, some spicing, licorice, and espresso. Rich but not thick. Goes down smooth hides alcohol. Slightly bitter

Bomber shared by Briand courtesy of Ray. Pouring a deep black with reddish-brown highlights & a thin ruddy head. The nose is coffee a bit sweet & bitter chocolate. Med-thin bodied, the taste is roasty dark bitter coffee. A decent dark beer but a bit watery. The main takeaway is roastiness.

22oz bottle shared by bitbucket. Black body with tan head in a De Molen tuliped copita glass. Aroma: earth, ground, light cocoa, some sweet chocolate biscuit, low hop, black patent bitterness, tobacco, lots of different imperial stout aspects. Its not big, its no hoppy, and its not alcohol heavy. Flavor is similarly not sweet or heavy but full of a lot of dark malt flavors. Some plum, licorice, much less roast than in aroma. Much smother but still a lot of black malt. I like it but I would like a little less dark malt centric beer.
