The rumour was started by the Arizona Department of Transportation: a suspicious looking "thing" was spotted on some highway cam in one of the most remote areas of the Grand Canyon state. Was it a yeti, was it a sasquatch or was it Big Foot? Since then the hunt has been on for the now infamous Arizona Beast - dusty, spiky and - of course - bearded. We have chosen to believe that it's out there - somewhere.
Bearded indeed were Arizona Wilderness brewers Jonathan Buford and Patrick Ware when they came to brew at Amager - after a small morning detour to Sweden or Norway or somewhere…admittedly European geography CAN be confusing. It was a day of good fun, laughter, drinking and a little brewing. We hope you'll enjoy our baby beast of an Oatmeal IPA.
P.S.: a final piece of good advice: should you ever get the chance, do NOT try to keep up with the Wilderness boys when it comes to drinking beer or hard liquor. Many a person have tried - and failed miserably.

Brown with light haze. Aroma and flavour of sugary caramelised fruits like peaches. Lots of pine too. Quite cakey. Bittersweet, syrupy finish.

Bottle. An orange-colored, hazy beer with a small off-white head. The aroma is quite piney and grapefruity, with some pale maltyness in the back. Some sweetish hints too. It’s full-bodied and pleasantly bittered, with a nice carbonation level. It’s piney and grapefruity in the flavor too, with a generic fruityness, and some pale malts in the back. And then even more pine cones, lasting for a really good while, along with bitterness, grapefruit and resins. Not the most exciting aroma in this one, even though it’s sure nice, but the hop flavors and bitterness are lovely. Could easily drink more of this. 160604

Bottle from Drinks of the World. A feasty IPA indeed. Strong flavours with a heavy body; thick, oily and bitter. Mostly tropical, slightly citric, some meat and umami, a little dusty. Fresh carbonation, carrying the flavours to the palate. Rather sweet with a lasting bitter and tasty finish.

Bottle: Poured a golden color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of green grassy notes is pretty pleasant. Taste is also a great mix of green grassy hops with floral citrus notes with a smooth finish which is probably due to the use of oat malt. Body is about average with good carbonation. Well brewed and I enjoyed the smooth and creamy texture of the oat malt.

Bottle shared at the 2015 edition of the chriso Pre-GBBF tasting - London. Cheers! Pours clear yellow with a creamy, white head. Citrusy hops in the aroma, dry pale bread. Medium sweet flavour, somewhat dank and piney, with notes of ripe citrus. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Resinous on the finish with further ripening citrus and pale bread. Good one.

Mycket gott!
