The rumour was started by the Arizona Department of Transportation: a suspicious looking "thing" was spotted on some highway cam in one of the most remote areas of the Grand Canyon state. Was it a yeti, was it a sasquatch or was it Big Foot? Since then the hunt has been on for the now infamous Arizona Beast - dusty, spiky and - of course - bearded. We have chosen to believe that it's out there - somewhere.
Bearded indeed were Arizona Wilderness brewers Jonathan Buford and Patrick Ware when they came to brew at Amager - after a small morning detour to Sweden or Norway or somewhere…admittedly European geography CAN be confusing. It was a day of good fun, laughter, drinking and a little brewing. We hope you'll enjoy our baby beast of an Oatmeal IPA.
P.S.: a final piece of good advice: should you ever get the chance, do NOT try to keep up with the Wilderness boys when it comes to drinking beer or hard liquor. Many a person have tried - and failed miserably.

Bottle from Craftissimo at PP with Catan. Hazy muddy goldenrod pour with fine white head. Aroma is very malty and musty aroma (like during brewing), damp grassy apple hops underneath. Not that nice. Taste is sharp booziness with musty hoppy bitterness. Bitterness lasts for a while. Not bad but wouldn't get again.

(500ml bottle from SB, rather fresh) Pours nearly clear dark gold with a moderate lingering white head and lace. Aroma has lots of cut grass and herbal notes, peach, citrus zest, passion fruit, light sweetness and a touch of biscuit. Flavour has lots of orange, passion fruit, mango, bitter grapefruit peel, lots of cut grass, quite bitter. Sweetness is very light, no real malt character. Bitterness escalates to a very high level in the finish, medicinal and almost tannic feel in the mouth, very spicy aftertaste. No grain in the palate but the oats might contribute to the very dry overall feel. Medium, slightly round mouthfeel despite above-average carb. This was really good overall, nice hop profile and heft, just the finish slightly undermined it by being a bit too aggressive.

50cl Bottle from Sterk. Hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit and lemon, lime, later on more pine, and after that pineapple. Flavour is light sweet, floral, light malty, fruity, pineapple, pine, spruce, lots of citrus, almost soapy, nice fruity bitter finish. Medium bodied at best. I love Amager IPA’s.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a fluffy white head. Aroma has got notes of black currant, gooseberries, grapefruit and caramel. Taste has got heavy notes of grapefruit and red orange. Really bitter! However, there is also a certain sweet floural note to it that "balances" things out. Well made hop punch!

Innledningsivs litt rå i smaken (alkoholen blir for tydelig). Citrus og gress. Det avrundes når temperaturen stiger. Tørr avslutning, nærmest snerpende. Ikke den bedste ipa fra de dyktige drænge på Amager.

Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 01.02.16. Hazy, pale straw colour. Off-white head. Aroma of pale citrus. Pale citrus and grapefruit bitterness in taste. Grapefruit bitterness in aftertaste. Dry. Perhaps a bit one-dimensional.
