Has a nice reddish colour, with a big juniper accent, and a whack of blackcurrant. Nice tartness, quite lactic but with a little berry sharpness in the finish. I do like the juniper accent to this - the idea and execution are pretty good.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Aroma has a moderately strong currant character with some light citrus notes. A moderate, herbal gin note. I’m not sure how I feel about the herbal, currant note. It reminds me quite a bit of some herbal, berry tonic or something. Pours a fairly clear, deep purple red with a medium large, dark pink head that recedes to a thin film that lingers in the center and on the edges. No lacing or legs. Flavor is slightly sweet with a moderate acidity. Moderately strong currant notes with lighter herbal gin notes. Light oak character as well. The gin and berries work better than in the aroma. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, it’s an odd combination and one that is very prevalent in the aroma, but it’s not necessary bad. I find the acidity to be well balanced and not too sharp either which is a great thing.

Bottle sample at 2015 RateBeer Best festival. Pours clear to lightly hazy burgundy magenta, medium dark pink magenta head, good lacing. Aroma is oaky, juniper, currants I guess (berries). Flavor is light plus tart, a hint of salt and a bit of funkiness and oak tannins. Mineral water and gin notes as well. Light body. Good, but not one of my faves from De Garde.

Draft - Dark berry and herbal notes. Deep purple with almost no head. Dark berry, pepper, spice and an earthy dry note. Touch of dryness. Weirdly good.

On tap at De Garde, pours a hazy dark pinkish ruby red with almost no head. Aroma is very muddy and earthy, with dirt, gin barrels and some dry currants. Flavour is very dry, muddy and herbal, with lots of gin notes, herbal notes, and a muddy earthy quality that isn't very nice. Not digging what's happening here.
