Ascender is our nod to the beauty and assertive character of the juiciest hops we know. This IPA was brewed with a blank canvas of a grain bill consisting only of our domestic base malt, then added in an obscene amount of Amarillo hops to develop a huge ruby red grapefruit and pink starburst character, only to be followed by El Dorado hop influenced secondary notes of papaya, fresh peaches, citron, and navel oranges, ending with a faint note of key lime pie. Overtly juicy and tropical in nature, Ascender is what we'd imagine a puréed Jimmy Buffett album would taste like. Your instincts will be to put a tiny pink umbrella in your glass, but rest assured, we tried that and it only got in the way of its succulent aroma.

Tap at The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours translucent gold with a white head. Aroma is juicy red grapefruit. Medd + body. Flavor is very citrus, tho the grapefruit seems more "white" than red. But it’s zesty and more than half way to dank. It’s very dry for me, and really bitter. Quite good stuff here.

On tap at Ale Arsenal. Moderate high pine with medium lemon and slight citrus. Clear golden with a full sustained white head that sets a pillow over the top and patterns down the glass. Taste is pine and citrus mixed well with solid biscuit and cracker malt support. Tasty.
