During a trip through the UK, the Wilderness/Buxton Brewers conceptualised a hybrid beer using refined traditional English malts along with outlandish Amercian Hops including Citra, Simcoe, Centennial, and Mosaic. The result is a balanced beer that pushes the stylistic boundaries of ESB, which would cause Camra members to yell "Rubbish!"

May subsequently have been released as a Buxton only beer.

(Draught at Man in the Moon, Stockholm, 4 Sep 2015) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of dried fruit, toffee and orange peel. Malty, fruity taste with dried fruit, orange, apricots, toffee and a balanced earthy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Well made and tasty premium bitter. Nice one.

(Keg at Angleterre, 20151014) The beer poured amber and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, toffee and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, molasses, grass, creamy toffee, pine and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter. Like a blend of an American amber ale and bitter. Not bad but not really my thing either.

Cask. Buxton Tap. Clear, copper colour. Film, and a few bubbles of lasting, off white head. Aroma is fruit cake fruits. Fresh, lightly grassy, spicy hop. Soft caramel malts. Smells great. Taste is soft sweet initially, before a spicy, resin bitterness. Palate has a nice chew. Finishes long, spicy bitter, with an edge of malty sweetness hanging around. Very nice.

Draught @ Man in the Moon, Stockholm Pours dark reddish orange with a smooth foamy head. Aroma of tropical fruits, berries, malts, some hints of citrus and resin. Taste is malty, bitter and tropical fruity with hints of resin and berries. Finish is malty and crisp with some fruits, grass, caramel, berries and toffee. Feels like an ESB with loads of American hops. --- Beer merged from original tick of Bitter Recognize on 31 Jul 2015 at 20:55 - Score: 6. Original review text: Meh.

Keg at Bishops Arms Folkungagatan, Stockholm. Hazy nut brown, small head. Buttery tangerine aroma. Sweet with medium-full body and rounded mouthfeel. Caramelly with notes of ash and tangerine. Mid bitter finish. Modern caramelly junk.
