Mohawk Belgian Grand Cru is a dark strong Belgian Ale fermented on raisins and vanilla. It’s velvety smooth, yet with a bite of alcohol and spices from the yeast. This beer will improve with age. Bring it out when it’s time to splice the mainbrace.

Flaska från SB. 2014 vintage. Tack Vignale. Mycket gott.

Deep lovely ruby brown color with a nice tan head. Some lacing. Nice complex aroma. Raisins, fruity, caramel, some alcohol and some spices. Fine body. A bit sweet and a moderate bitterness. A little bit unbalanced. Soft carbonation. Good complexity in the flavor. Mostly the same as in the aroma. Fruity, raisins, some alcohol, toffee and some spices. Tasty stuff.

Forgetfu Tasting at ChrisOs. Lightly hazy amber beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is light and dry. Strong but thin toffee - caramel. Little sweet cream. Sweet tangy fruits. Brown sugar. Light dry finish. Pretty bloody sweet!

Bottle thanks to Colin. It pours deep ruby-brown with a small yellow-white head. The nose is sweet, dried fruits, candied peel, glazier cherry, wood, must and leather. The taste is boiled sweets, toffee, brown sugar, cake, booze, toast and spice with a sweet finish. Medium-full body and moderate carbonation. Sweet and boozy. Too much for my liking...

Bottle split in London, from Systembaloget Nordstan, 10/07/14. Clear chestnut brown with a light reddish hues and a good sized beige covering that thins to spotting and edgework. Nose is dark fruits, burnt toffee, dates, caramelised sugars, prune juice. Taste is pretty sweet, dates, sticky toffee pudding, sweet toffee apple, raisens, candied sugars, faint yeast ester. Medium + body, fine carbonation, a little overly cloying and sweet. The alcohol is well disguised but overall just too sweet for me to be something I’d look to return to.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Colin. Pours clear amber with a rich, foamy tan head. The nose has caramel candies, ripe and stewed fruits, figs dates. Big sweet flavor, lots of syrup, licorice, bread, fruitcake, bitter grains, dates. Full bodied with light carbonation. Sticky and warming finish, more syrupy fruits, old strawberry, toffee, dates. Heavy. OK.
