This brew pours jet black with a medium tan head that diminishes steadily. Patchy lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and oak. Medium-bodied with flavors of roast coffee, charred malt, and chocolate. The finish is mocha and burnt malt. Pretty good overall.

Draft at Thirsty Monk during RBWG 2014 - Asheville. Pours red brown with a creamy, tan head. Tasty stuff with light smoked malts, burnt sugar, cocoa. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Warming finish with burnt sugars, well toasted bread, chocolate. Nice.

Bottle - Grape and dark malts. Jet black with beige head. Charred malts, burnt coffee and a long finish. To much char for me.

Happy Stout Day! 8% The Hibernal Vinifera Stout is oak-aged & brewed with Malbec grape juice. This should be interesting... A dark reddish black with a thick brown head of foam. The aroma is chocolate, roastiness & a hint of grape. Nice smooth full mouthfeel, velvety chocolate with just a touch of sweet grape juice in the finish. Solid.

Bottle thanks to a trade! Pours black with a dark brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of raisin, dark fruits, dark chocolate and underlying roasted malts. Flavor has lots of dark grains and chocolate with backing roast, dark fruits and raisin. A touch thin in the finish.

Can 35,5 cl. Pours a dark, reddish brown with a beige head. Thick, sweet roasty aroma, a little tar. Rich, sweet body, roast and ashes but sweet throughout - almost syrupy, Some late, warming alcohol. 120713

Can, at Beercade Emporium in May. Stoutish color, but illuminated by a bit of purple. Smelly is mostly rich cocoa and roasty malt. A very roasty tasting stout, too, but tempered by some grape juice. Keeps the overall beer kind of sweet and lets the grape play pretty well, in polace of the lactose of a milk stout. Unique!
