Fearless and bold, our Epic IPA earns its name vanquishing hops at a rate of no less than two pounds per barrel. And yet, this heroic outlaw still achieves a noble balance of clean bitterness, smooth malt, and citrusy hops, making it the perfect sidekick for your next wilderness tale.

12 oz bottle purchased as a single at the Lodgepole general store in Sequoia National Park. Enjoyed as “Tuolumne Meadows IPA”. The pour is hazed orange copper with a smallish off white head. The aroma is faint floral hops along with cracker malt. The taste is a pleasant blend of the dry floral, softly bitter hops and the cracker toasted malt. The palate is medium to light bodied with soft carbonation and a clean dry softly bitter mineral finish. Nice.

Draught @ the brewpub. Rated on 23.07.2012
Aroma is sweet and fruity with apricot, mango, resin and hints of caramel. Flavour is sweet with caramel, resin and fruits. Too sweet but not bad still.

Bottle. Sold as Tuolumne Meadows IPA in Yosemite Park. Pours clear amber with a medium head that has good staying power and some lacing. Nice hoppy aroma, with citrus taking the fore, backed by pine. Taste is hops dominated with a nice up-front punch of grapefruit, with a citrus/pine body and a lightly bitter finish. Smooth drinking and well crafted. Nice effort.

Arbitrary score 4/5 for Appearance, as nighttime conditions prevented correct assessment. Very orangey hops, bit sweet-smelling. Bit sticky-sweet flavour, again much orange(peel) oriented with bitter resiny components. Kafir lime. Sticky MF too, feels light bodied and oily. Pffff...

Bottle. Amber beer with a cream head. Earth and pine aroma with grapefruit. Pine and earthy flavor with grapefruit. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Pine and grapefruit linger with earth, light dust, and light malt.

This brew is a clear orange-gold color with a medium bone white head that recedes steadily to a film. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, citrus and malt. Medium body with flavors of herbal hops, malt and citrus fruits. The finish is moderately hoppy with a fruity aftertaste. Not exactly "epic’, but not bad either.

Bomber from the Arden BevMo in Sacramento, CA. Pours copper with a 2 finger foamy beige head. Mixed aroma of roast malt and sugary/floral hop. Sugary? Med body. MIld carb. Flavor is roast malt, quickly covered over with citrus and floral hop. Maybe some resin underneath. This is sort of a over hopped ESB. To my perception. Pretty good stuff.

Nice crisp and hazy copper coloured body with almost ruby tints and a nice thin (one centimetre tall) tan head. Aroma of fresh soapy, piney and lightly citrusey hops with a lot of alcohol tucked in, some fresh apricots and a robust large body. Medium-bodied; Assertive citrus and piney hop flavour with a good but understated malt backbone and a quick and large flash of hops up front faded off with some apricots and alcohol, but a relatively mild finish. Aftertaste shows the glimmer of the hops, but no malt, sweetness or alcohol in the finish, just a lingering dryness, which is nice, but not stellar. Overall, a good traditional IPA, nothing too special, but definitely not a let down. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Hi-Time Wine Cellars in Costa Mesa, California on 18-May-2009, sampled at home in Washington on 07-March-2010.

On draft at Yosemite National Park. Nice copper gold color with a small white head that gives way to a ring of foam with a lace middle. Aroma of cascade hops explode out of the glass. Monster nose with lots of floral scents. Taste of balanced hop and malt on the initial palate follows through with both loads of bitterness and nice floral flavors. The mouthfeel is a little disjointed from the jolt of hops on the finish.
