Flora is the wine barrel aged version of Florence (1915-1967), our wheat Farmstead® ale. Selected barrels were aged on a variety of hand-picked organic plums from Elmore Roots Nursery in Wolcott, Vt., for several months. The result is a vibrant, refined expression of both harvest and craft.

Pours a hazy, pale peach-orange, with minimal head. Aroma is tart plum and basement funk. Flavors follow. Fairly clean, crisp mouthfeel. Tasty.

375ml (thx, Raphael D. C.!) @ Phill's shared with Ash. Appearance: a bit hazy golden with a weak white head. Aroma: nice sour plums (kind of similar in some manner to Japanese plum wines), rustic saison notes, some barrel. Taste: funky, not much of plums, dry. Overall: ok, but it's definitely not worth of the efforts and $.

Very very pale color. Nice tart nose with sweet plum character balanced with the dry palate and oak. The fruit character is fantastic, not over the top and nice oak. Decent, balanced abut not world class

Pale salmon colour, but no head. On the palate, nice complex tartness, wood lends some nice tannins, and good plum character. Again, excellent beer, with superb depth and complexity.

Bottle at the brewery - shared with Nellser. pours hazy grapefruit pink with a fluffy, pure white head. Nice aroma, tangy plum, old wood. Light sweet flavor with sturdy acidity, tart plum, lemon, woody dryness. Light bodied with delicate carbonation. Quenching finish, more tart plum, tangerine, lemon, drying wood. Bone dry aftertaste. Exceptional.

Thanks Huhzubendah for sharing the bottle! Poured into a taster into a hazy dull yellow with sparse white foam lacing. The nose shows lightly tart notes of tangerine, brett, and a light vanilla background. These notes are intense and juicy yet so beautifully composed together. The palate is medium bodied and moderately carbonated. Highly tart with refreshing flavors of bright and dry tangerine and light brett funk. No acetic edge but with light citrus notes. Finish is a resurgence of refreshing citrus and tangerine.

(On tap @ Warpigs HF Day, Copenhagen, May 12 2016) Pours a hazy pale pink-peach colour with a small white head and no lace. Aroma of ’rockets’ powder candy, lacto, slight sulphur, red plums, new oak and slight funk. Flavour is quite tart with more powder candy, red plum, light yoghurt, semi-sweet pale malt and fruit, fairly funky, with a light oaky dryness building into the finish. Mouthfeel is powdery and mineral with light carbonation. The powder candy association was amusing but not at all unpleasant, and the fruit was well-integrated with the character of the base beer here. Very nice feel in the mouth and balance, quite drinkable.
