Bottle from Drankenspeciaalzaak Jelle, Leeuwarden. Aroma is roasted malt, lots of coffee, oak, whisky, dark chocolate, chocolate cake, some bourbon, lightly peat, bit vinous with a touch of red fruits and some liquorice in the finish. Flavour is above medium sweet and above moderate roasty bitter. Body is medium to full. Nice blend of not too overblown barrel aged Stouts, the flavour could have been just a bit more rich and sturdy. That being said, this is quite nice.

Sampled from 0.375 l bottle from 'Het Biermoment', best before May 2023, cellared for more than a year. Pitch black with a light brown head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty and a little fruity aroma of caramel, milk chocolate, coffee and some red berries. Gently sweet, malty, slightly bitter, quite roasty taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, some red berries and traces of oak, followed by a medium long, moderately roasty-bitter, slightly woody, a bit smoky finish. Medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Tasty!

37.5cl Bottle, thanks Harmen! Black colour, beige-brown head. Aroma of booze, wood, liquorice, molasses, iron, brown sugar, rust. Flavour is sweet, also quite bitter, crude, wood, ink, booze, light earthy whisky, hint of peat, roasted malts, molasses, some coffee, boozy finish. Medium bodied. Not their best offering.

Thick cream-brown head over near-black beer. Liquorice, zoete drop , roast, bit of ureum. Roasted, rusty flavour, with a sweet, near-malty finish. Very slick, oily, viscous, medium carbonation. In the end, pretty average strong stout. Thanks to M & L V.! 7/4/7/4/14

Bottle from De Bierkonig, at home, 8th December 17. Pours black, big head for a stout of this weight, aroma is vineous, wet barrel, liquor, slight sour. Taste is complex, blended well, liquorice, grainy wood notes, liquor, barrel, roasted malt. Great impy, from one of my favourite Dutch breweries
