draught @ Nisha Craft Riga Aroma has very sweet sugary and buttery tones. Flavour has butter, sugary tones, some licorice and hints of coffee. Unusual.

Black with big foaming but well retained head. Aroma starts with piney hops, some dark malts too. Nice bitter taste. Elements of coffee and slightly smokey roasted malt. Very flavoursome.

Bottled. Close to black colour with a mediumsized beigeish brown head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is roasted malts, mild coffee with some slight tart wooden tones and mild ashes. Flavour is chocolate, coffee, some mild roasted malts with a slightly tart edge and quite a high floral bitterness. Otherwise nice, but I'm really not very amused of this kind of hopping in a stout.

330ml bottle. Quasi black colour with average to huge, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, beige to tan head. Roasty, dark malty and citrusy fruity, hoppy aroma, notes of dark chocolate, coffee, orange, some grapefruit. Taste is bitter, roasty dark malty and bitter, citrusy fruity hoppy, notes of dark chocolate, coffee, orange, some grapefruit, some zesty aspects. Watery texture, smooth and minimally dry palate, medium, foamy-prickly carbonation. Quite fruity hoppy, fairly bitter - very nice.

6/VII/21 - 33cl can from Totenhopfen bottle shop, shared @ home, BB: X/2021, L: GC080620 (2021-592) Thanks to Johan L. for hauling the bottle!
Clear dark brown beer, big aery irregular to creamy beige head, unstable, falls down quickly. Aroma: caramel, dried fruits, soft roast, sweet chocolate, malty, grains, decent! MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: nice stuff, good hop bitterness up front, fruity notes, a good roast, some chocolate, coffee. Aftertaste: bitter and hoppy, very roasted, slightly sweet, caramel malts, lots of coffee, bitter hoppy finish, very nice one, could just as well have been a Black IPA imho!

Bottle. Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma is chocolate, roasty, grains, earthy. Taste is the same, a bit of a bitter hoppy finish. Chewy mouthfeel with soft carbonation. A bit unexciting.
